Examples of Waivers

Trail run waiver on clipboard

Waivers are mandatory on trail runs

Here are some samples of waivers from various clubs, events, and recovery groups that we readily found online. In addition to the ones listed below, a quick Google search will turn up many more.

They are presented here as learning examples; and offroading.info makes no assurances or claims regarding the veracity and validity of their verbiage; or that any of these sample waivers is legally binding in your jurisdiction.

We also emphasize that these examples are the property of their respective organizations. If you intend on “borrowing” any of their content, you should request permission from the owners.

As in most situations in life, many of the clubs & organizations are happy to let you use some or all of their waiver material, but there could be someone out there who is strongly protective of their intellectual property and denies you permission. Do the proper thing and ASK.

In addition, we recommend that an attorney reviews your final draft.

We are not practicing attorneys, and are not providing legal advice nor legal documents. We are only showing you examples of what others in our community are using.

Be aware, that even with signed “hold harmless” waivers, there are no guarantees that you won’t get sued. But having a signed waiver definitely helps in your favor.
